Make a HEIC photo easier to share as JPG
Convert a phone photograph locally and check orientation, quality and metadata.
Some upload forms cannot open HEIC photographs from a phone. JPG is widely accepted for photographs and is useful when the recipient only needs the visible image.
The browser loads its HEIC decoder when needed. Keep the tab open for that first asset download. Your photograph is decoded on your device, rather than sent to a conversion server.
Check orientation and fine detail in the output preview. JPG uses lossy compression and does not preserve transparency. Keep the HEIC original if you may need its extra source information later.
How it works
- Choose the HEIC photograph and wait for local decoding.
- Review the image and choose a quality setting appropriate for sharing.
- Download the JPG, or continue with Image to PDF using that processed file.
Before you export Conversion is not a guarantee that every kind of private metadata is removed. Use the metadata-removal tool and inspect its result when that matters.
Common questions
Does the decoder download contain my photograph?
No. The decoder is application code fetched to your device. The selected photograph is processed locally.
Should I replace my original HEIC file?
Keep the original separately. The JPG is a sharing copy and may contain less detail or source information.
