True redaction rebuilds every page from masked pixels and checks removed native text in a fresh parser. Bookmarks, interactive fields, attachments and comments are removed. Pages with redactions are image-only; untouched pages keep selectable text. Review scanned content visually; this is not OCR.

Are these editors free, and do files leave my device?
All editing, signing, redaction, comparison, cropping and forms run in browser workers, free and unlimited. No upload, signup, Turnstile or daily quota applies. Up to 20 files (exactly two for comparison), 500 MB total and 2,000 pages per batch; device memory can require smaller batches. Original files remain unchanged until you export a new copy.
What should I check before exporting?
Every page is rebuilt from masked pixels, original content/resources are discarded, and removed native text is checked absent in a fresh parser. Review the verified copy before enabling downloads. Scanned text needs visual review. Metadata, forms, comments, attachments and bookmarks are removed; pages containing a redaction are image-only; untouched pages retain selectable text.
Can I use Redact PDF now?
Redact PDF is available now, free and without signup. Processing happens entirely on your device.
Where will Redact PDF process my files?
Files are read, processed and rendered in browser Web Workers. Nothing is uploaded. Cancel stops the worker immediately; originals remain unchanged.
